In a very ironic turn a Croatian-Serb won a bronze for her country in shooting. Snjezana Pejcic came home behind a Czech and Russian to surprise the home favourite Du Li (Pejcic seems to have flown under the radar as she's been consistently brilliant in competition and should really have won gold but for a loss of concentration).
3 Croatian cyclists (hopefully clean) are in a breakaway group that looks more and more likely to be caught by Sastre (hopefully clean).
While a Croatian gymnast is going for qualification to the Individual all-round and apparatus right now.

Ah beaten by one minute...
I love sport, almost any sport, but Jesus how can anybody sit there and watch that crap? How on earth that became an Olympic event baffles me.
Well done Croatia though!

Most of the posts come from the old "Corinthian/Victorian" days when martial and upper class pursuits were the ones easiest for the toffs to take part in. While the unwashed masses slaved in factories and the mines, in the fields and on the seas, the gentlefolk shot targets, played tennis in ball gowns (that was just the men, the women preferred the beach volleyball style, now sadly not allowed - shame) and played golf. Meanwhile the more militaristic types boxed, pentathled (actually that's a real word), fenced and wrestled.
Croatia are looking good for a few medals this year, sailing, swimming, kayaking and probably Vlasic for some colour in athletics. Then the joke sports like water polo (or underwater love as one commentator called it), voleyball and handball should produce at least 3 between them all. 10 medals are likely (imho)
