As we are on the eve of the new Premier League football season starting, I would like to challenge Capio and anyone else interested, in a little football result competition. Below are my selections for this weekend. We can run this for the season if there's any interest and see who is the best tipster. I think capio will need to improve his predictions from Euro 2008 to have any chance.
Saturday, 16 August 2008 Arsenal v West Brom Home Win Bolton v Stoke Home Win Everton v Blackburn Draw Hull v Fulham Away Win Middlesbrough v Tottenham Draw Sunderland v Liverpool Away Win West Ham v Wigan Home Win
Sunday, 17 August 2008 Aston Villa v Man City Draw Chelsea v Portsmouth Home Win Man Utd v Newcastle Home Win

Nick, you might want to rethink Middlesbrough v Tottenham. Tottenham will definitely beat Middlesbrough. Even though I will simply be an observer of such fun and games on the forum, Nick can you also put up where they are playing please, as it can make a huge difference, and also saves us having to look it up too when you say home win. Thanks

This is like Christmas eve for me... I can't wait... first game of the season.
I don't expect boro to tear up any trees this season but we have a truly prolific striker in Alves, he's scored for fun pre season as well as scoring 5 in his last 6 league games.
Get him and Darren Bent in your dream teams. Tomorrow may be tough for us as we still need to add a keeper and a rb, but Spurs have lost Keane and Berbatov's next so who knows...
If you're feeling lonely or if you're feeling sad...
come down to the Holgate and you won't feel so bad.
Cos when you're in the Holgate you'll hear a might roar...
ffff off you Geordie *****
don't come back no more... ey ey ey

polako, the team named first are always the home team.
Example: Middlesbrough v Tottenham
Middlesbrough are the home team and so "Home Win" means you think Middlesbrough will win. Can't believe I just had to write that.

[duck] Sorry Polako, this is bloke stuff. [/duck] Ribaric, my final post on this "blokes' only thread", or even blokes only thread, so can you explain to me- What's a goal? Why can't you hit the ball with your hand in football? How do you know when a team has scored? PS I can't believe you lot are falling for the windups..... ;D

Nick, you might want to rethink Middlesbrough v Tottenham. Tottenham will definitely beat Middlesbrough. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Champions league you're having a laugh... Berbatov clapped the boro fans when we sang... You're going to Man Utd...You're going to Man Utd... The Yid fans weren't happy.... just like when Mido (their ex player) scored ;D ;D We also had a perfectly good goal disallowed at 0-0 if anything it was a foul to us... In other news... Luka Modric is missing, he was last seen in Mohamed Shawky's back pocket where he spent 90 mins at The Riverside stadium today!

Very good start capio, I just could'nt see your team Middlesborough winning today.
I seem to remember Tottenham claiming last season they would get a top 4 place and then into the Champions League. Everyone knows that 4th place belongs to my team, Liverpool.

Slatkica, you clearly have not read my final wind up questions to the lads: What's a goal? Why can't you hit the ball with your hand in football? How do you know when a team has scored? Even better than getting them to explain what a home win is huh? Seriously though, I have now checked out my theory that some people might not know that point about fixtures and asked a few people who watch the game whether they knew about fixtures, and lo and behold they did not know that the first team mentioned is the home team. This is just being user friendly....... Jeez though, it is boring to labour the point...... ;D
