Thats the name of a croatian tv show which shows off all that croatia has to offer in terms of "tourism", even though the program is in croatian(no english/translation).
i sort of liked watching this program, but i have heard a number of times, the tv hosts , when on the coast for example, introduce
a croat from the slavonia region of croatia, by saying" would you believe, or who would say that this man/woman is from slavonia and lives in dubrovnik" for example. what a shock??!!! is that possible? that a croat lives in another part of croatia?
that to me is totaly ridiculous. i lived my entire life in australia and i couldve lived on the coast, inland, in any city and noone, absolutely noone, would freak out as to me being there. Croats, or atleast the croat tv hosts are creating regional walls, so thick, as thick and as narrow minded as their own minds and croat mentality.
i would just like to add a number of facts here...when the ottoman turks invaded bosnia and herzegovina, many bosnians fled to the croatian islands, much of croats island population have bosnian roots. bosnians and herzegovinians also fled to croatias slavonia region as well, a result of turkish invasion of bosnia. turks were in control of bosnia and parts of croatia for 400 years, so the genetic testing people should consider that when they come to conclusions about certain racial factors. and if you want to look at recent history, many many "dalmatians" fled to slavonia during the world wars, because slavonian was considered a food basket, where people could live much easier off the land. today in slavonia there are croats who originally came from dalmatia, bosnia and herz, and islands.
i have also heard comments, usually from coastal dwellers, from places such as omis, say that the "indeginous " population dont live there in great numbers any more, and that they want "indeginous" people to move back to omis. ??!!!but not croats from other parts of croatia!
i saw a guy from the island of Prvic, near sibenik say the same thing on tv yesterday.
all i can say is that coastal croats are soooo small minded. dont they know that they came there in the 7th century, scared the crap out of the illyrians , greeks and roman people, who fled from the barbarians with boats or whetever they could find, and croats were basically left to pick up the pieces of a land which was civilized until they showed up.
sorry, croat coastal people, but not only will you have croats from other parts of croatia moving to your town, you will also have them marrying your kids. and not only that, people from all over europe will be moving into your little towns, sorry. i hope you dont faint when you see that people from other european countries know how to swim. or that they dont turn green when they eat a fig.
croats are the smallest consumers of fish in the entire med region. croats hardly consumed olive oil (only a small coastal area) until it became a health food fad about 5 years ago. and yeah, you can buy cevape on the coast, and the "svinjo kolje" (pig slaughtering season, does also happen in dalmatia, its not only slavonia, all of bosnia, apart from the muslims, also do that.
i just wish that croats would grow up, and stop being proud of a sea that God made. Croats made the concrete, the urban "planning" and chicken coop buildings along the coast, a result of politics and corruption. take a look at split...apart from diocletians palace...what else can you see there??? it was made by an albanian roman emperor, not a croat. sveti duje was a syrian bishop, who was martyred in solin. he wasnt croat either.
croat coastal restaurants have become an absolute rip off in the last few years. for all europeans.
sorry, but coastal croats and tv shows such as boje turizma are really irritating. and im dalmatian, and im also wondering if this country will ever be united? i cant see it happening. too much stupid pride behind every mountain and sea view.
