How much is decent pint of beer these days in the UK - not lager! I can't take any more pivo? I'm going back for a bit in October and need to know whether I need to take out a small loan to enjoy a couple of bevvies in my old local.

I was in Shrewsbury a few weeks ago and the average price for a pint of ale was 2.50 pounds. That being said, I can't stand the stuff. Several tasted like Indonesian toilet water. Don't ask how I know that I ended havng to drink Stella

Gavin if you're trying to suggest you can get a better pint in Croatia than England, you have taste issues!
Wobb depends how far north you are, in a chain bar like yatesy's they start about £1.20, Samuel Smith pubs about £1.30 and like Gav said about £2.50 elsewhere.

£1.20 for a pint in the 'grim north' !?
Have they invented a time machine to magically transport oneself back to the 80's?

Drinking in Yates pubs? Now that sums up todays drinking culture in the UK.............................. What next - Weatherspoons? p.s. I think you might find it is £2.40 or so for a pint in yates...at least those that have chilled beer and toilets...... ;D

Why would you bother telling us beer is that cheap and then give us the link to the site where it clearly says a pint of Fosters (worst beer ever) is 2.60 and smirnof is 4.50 . ps. I made no comparisons to Croatian beer.

It's £1.25 a drink at the Middlesbrough place 00441642 243764 that's the number call and ask them
That's for Fosters, Smirnorf ice and John Smiths.
Drinks in Middlesbrough are generally quite expensive so I have no reason to believe this is just a local promo... although it's possible.
As for saying it's £4.50 for a Smirnorf... it's £4.50 for a double vodka and redbull. That's hardly the same thing... that's 80 kunas in Zagreb I should know I drank it enough!
