yep its one of the most striking things in my life time, just approximately ten years ago there were no fat kids in Croatia. Now hello, what's this its a fat Croatian kid. Bad stuff and the government needs to start doing something about it.

I agree with 3Lions, Croatia has some fat people, but not even close to the amount you will find in Holland, Germany, Belgium, the US etc. If you would visit the Caribbean you will see that the majority of the people is not just a little bit overweight, they are obese. I don't see that too often in Croatia.
So, I have no idea who made this list, but I don't agree with it. On the other hand, being overweight is never good, a diet may help a lot and leaving the alcohol in the bottle can be a major part of the diet.

Don't know about Croatia featuring so prominently in the Top 10 of obesity league , but my own younger brother , at 56 , is 6 ft and 110 kg ; could it be all that frozen-defrosted-refrozen mammouth/porc meat , well-aged 10 years+ , as imported from Brasil , China and who knows where else , which would all be cremated in the EU ? Cevapi , krmenadli , pomfrit , kruh , Zuja ( udri Brigu : na Veselje ? ) ...

...strange how Croatian men are getting fatter than the Croatian women and how they are getting fatter as they age.

I was quite surprised at the unhealthy food served up in the kindergartens - not a piece of fruit in sight. Is this the norm throughout kindergartens here?

Fruit in Croatia is pretty much the same price as in NW EUrope ; but Gavrilovic stuff is cheap-ish ( depends if one can still somach the thought/s ? ) .
