Hi Me and my friend plan to travel in Croatia in May. Is there any way to get from Mljet island to Korcula at 20th of May. originally, I thought ploce means the dock in Mljet island. so that I can take the ferry from ploce to Trpanj and then take the Bus from Trpanj to Orebic then take the ferry to korcula. However, I was wrong. Can anyone help me for this please?THANKS!

I have done some research, and possibly the best option is take a ferry from Mljet (Sobra) to Prapratno (Peljesac) - 4 per day, 45 minutes, and then bus from Prapratno (about 6 per day) to Orebic and then ferry to Korcula (10 minutes, about 6 or 7 ferries per day). A useful map: www.croatia-nudistsbeaches-scubadiving.com/images/mljet_peljesac_ferry.gifIf I find anything better, will let you know. Enjoy your time in Croatia!

Hi Many thanks for your help. I sent an email to Orebic tourist information website. And they told me that there is no bus from Prapratno to Orebic. There is only taxi. But taxi is far too expensive for me. Could you kindly give me the information/website of the bus timetable from Prapratno to Orebic? I am doing some research and I found that there might be a ferry from Pomena (Mljet) to Trstenik. And I am thinking maybe there will be bus from Trstenik to Orebic. Will it be corrected? Many thanks for your help.

Also I could not find any info about buses running from Prapratno to Orebic. Sorry!
What about hitchhiking, the local are nice there?

I got the reply from ferry company and they said there will be one ferry running from Korcula to Sobra at 20th May. So I guess the best way is to change my plan. getting Korcula first then get on this ferry to Mljet.. (I emailed the hostel to arrange the changes. not sure if they will be happy or not. but nothing i can do. so... : Many thanks for helping

Hi. Me and my friend are visiting croatia in September and were looking at getting a catamaran from Dubrovnik to Mljet and the Mljet to Korcula.
Would it be easier to get a bus from Dubrovnik to Oberic, then get the ferry to Korcula and then maybe do a day trip to Mljet?
If so - do you know of a website that has bus information for Dubrovnik - Oberic?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

spud, were you thinking of maybe getting this catamaran? www.gv-line.hr/raspored.php?linija=3 As it won't be running in September... The Jadrolinija ferry will still be operating the Dubrovnik - Sobra (Mljet) - Korcula route, though not on all days. See www.jadrolinija.hr for timetables to see if they run on a day that suits your travel plans. Otherwise, yes, there are some buses to Orebic if that works out a better route for you. See the PDF from the Dubrovnik bus terminal website: www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired2.pdf. (The "NE PROMETUJE NEDJELJOM I PRAZNIKOM" means "doesn't run Sundays and holidays").

Another option, If you want to get from Mljet to Korcula you could hop the return Boat trip that runs from Korcula and Lumbarda most days to Miljet (contact the stonac boat on 00385915268269 or contact the lumbarda tourist office.
