For some days now , every time I look up this Forum , there's always "Welcome Guest , please , Log in or Register" , even though I always tick the "Keep me Logged in" box ; Why so ? Any advice , hints , suggestions , in order to circumvent this ?

Yes, that's right, like Internet Explorer. I've done a quick scan of the Proboards Support forum to see if anyone's experiencing soething similar, and I didn't note anything like that I'm afraid.
I wonderered if it was therefore something specific to your browser...

Well , 1 ) I've got the same experience on various computers ; 2 ) seems to be much the same , on any computer , not on your valued Forum only ! Even today , 3 times , I logged on as a member and was still asked to log on again , a few mins. ago... Should I wipe mysef off and rejoin , different name & different codeword ( same beliefs ) , what d'ya reckon ?

Hi ray, no, don't think you will have to "delete" yourself (as it were) and rejoin with another name, not sure if that will help.
I'll ask in the support forum and see if they can provide any clues.

Thanxxxxs ! I note that the condition persists further i.e. no matter how many times I've logged in and ticked "keep me logged in" , the next time I click on the Forum , even if within the next hour : I'm a "guest" again ; but , of lately , we've experienced any amount of nonsense with the Explorer , and so I wonder if that's not the root of the complication , too ? Or : could it be my computer/s fault/s ?

Stop deleting your cookies/history after each trip to those naughty sites...

( I like to delete past entries , was told it makes the computer quicker/free-er , whatever that may mean ...yet , this never used to interfere with my joining this Forum before )

I have the same problems with having to regularly log in to the site- and I dont delete my history/cookies. However I think if you are using 'multiple ISPs' ( to hide your browsing history or to log into UK sites that are blocked for users outside the UK) then you may have this problem- an inconvenience, but it is strange as it only happens to me on pro boards and not other messageboards that i visit

There you go ray, and that's exactly what the moderator on the Proboards support forum said as well. I don't know if what's behind this is the fact that the log in has changed slightly - before you could set how long you wanted to be logged in for (1 hour, 2 hours...forever) and now it's just "Keep me logged in". Though I would have thought both ways are set by cookies. Oh and, how amazingly exciting - I now have the power to split threads/move parts of one! (If one goes too off-topic, for example, and would suit being a new thread in its own right.) Can't wait to use it!

....now it's just "Keep me logged in". Though I would have thought both ways are set by cookies. I've not seen anything like that and I also have to log in every time. On other forum sites I've seen such a button but not here.

There's a "remember me" button underneath the username box on the login page - give that a go and see if it helps.

Thanks Anna, I see that button now and don't understand how I missed it before when I was specifically looking for such a button!
