Yes exhibitions are hard work, having to repeat the same stuff over and over, for hours every day, for three days. But so far interest is good and we are hoping to get some inquiries for our Eco hamlet development, so fingers crossed. Obviously if we do pick up any coastal leads then they will be directed to some friendly agencies we know at the coast.

Good luck with it. Out of interest, how many other agencies will be there selling Cro property?
Can you post a link to the Eco hamlet - would be interested to know more.
cheers Paul

We are the only agency from Croatia at the exhibition, so it seems. Our Eco Hamlet principle can be seen here, although the current project is now for 11 properties. www.saprocro.com

Even in good times, there were only one or two Croatian agencies at the exhibition so it says something that Croatia can still have a presence there at all. (It is incredibly expensive to attend those exhibitions - I think we spent £20k in total on the one we went to). There doesn't seem to be any Montenegrin agencies at all though and UK buyers were major investors in Montenegro. So, does that mean the bottom has completely dropped out of the Montenegro market?

I think that Croatia gets a higher exposure with UK buyers than MN, maybe thats why. Also the current economic climate has probably put many agencies and developers off. We are hoping to do the show for somewhat less than you spent Carol, I hope half, but then we will probably be the smallest stand there. ;D Size doesn't matter, or so they tell me, its all about the quality

Or even put her in some exy handyman outfit to promote your eco building (that is if she is sustainable). As they say, if you build it they will come.

We know you won't be at the fair, you'll be down at the local curry shop eating your heart out. Then it will be a trip to Tesco, ASDA and the likes to snatch up all the specials, then a trip to PC world to get a bargain laptop.

Having just got back you may be interested to know that despite the lovely weather in the UK, just under 5000 people attended the show last weekend.
Turkey and the USA were represented in large numbers, but from what we would could see and clients were telling us, no where near the bargains to be had that they were expecting.
We estimate that around half of the people we saw on our stand were looking to relocate abroad, way, way more than the organizers projections.
There was almost no adverse reaction or comments about Croatia at all, quite the reverse. Many people we met had been here on holiday and loved it, but not that many had returned for a second visit.....?
Only 145 exhibitors in total so way below the numbers of years ago, but those we spoke to seemed to be very satisfied with the number and quality of leads they were getting.
For our part our Eco Hamlet development seemed to be very well received. we were rather surprised that we were the only company there offering solar power/solar heating etc. Thought many more companies would have jumped on that band wagon?

Thats not many for such an event. Here's hoping you get your money invested back, plus more. Almost reminds me of some sport and fashion events I have been to in the last year and the vast majority of people in attendance where the parents or exhibitors. Someone somewhere forgot to advertise. This is what I think is a common problem or weakness with advertising agencies in Zagreb. I so often see those bill board adverts go up just 1 week before an event, sometimes even less. Very short sighted and no real strategy, especualy profit making strategy.

The current economic climate and unusually fine weather obviously had an effect on attendance numbers, but those we saw were genuine.
We sell pretty cheap properties up this way so we didn't have to attract the big money like everyone else there. Our Eco Hamlet is only a small development of 11 plots, we don't have 100 apartments and 50 villas to sell otherwise..........
Lets see what happens over the next few weeks and months.
