I am bringing my 79yr old mom to London in August/September for a 5 week holiday. Her parents are originally from Brac and Kotor. I have booked return flights to Split but now would like some advice on the feasibility of the rest of the planned holiday. I would like to spend 2 nights and one full day in Split then get a ferry to Brac on Sunday lunchtime/mid afternoon. My grandfather is from Lorisce which I believe my now be spelt Lozisca? If anyone knows I would be grateful The plan is to spend 3 nights on Brac open to suggestions as to where. I am not sure what Lozisca is like but have heard Supertar or Milna are lovely. I would also like to find out about car hire in Brac as it would be nice to see as much as possible of the island one day and have another relaxing on the beaches. Can you get a ferry from Brac to Dubrovnik? This would be the next stop for 2 nights. I would then like to hire a car and drive to Kotor for 2 nights but am not sure if hire cars can cross borders? The last day would be driving from Kotor back to Split with one last night in Split before flying back to London. All in all 10 nights away. Does this sound do able for a fairly mobile 79 year old. My mom has never been to her parents birth countries so want to make this a once in a lifetime experience. I would appreciate any advice regarding the travel plans. Accommodation recommendations would also be welcome along with any other tips.

Go to the village and ask in a cafe bar, some one will want to help or know a man that can !! Far and away the best advice. Never failed me yet for local questions about land owners, previous owners and tenants, who rented what, who was growing which crops, where they live/d, what their kids are doing now, who is in court against who, who married a Bosnian, what size shoes they wore.... Svi znaju sve o svima - everyone knows everything about everyone.
