Croatian Ambassador in UK: 'Croatian-British relations never been better' From the Croatian Times Croatia's ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ivica Tomic, says that relations between the two countries has never been better than it is now and that more and more British travellers are recognising Croatia's beauty and are now holidaying in Croatia, reports website index.hr. "Relations between Croatia and Great Britain have never been better, and they will continue to intensively develop. Croatia is entering the EU and Britain is helping out. Relations in tourism is starting to intensify, the Brits are recognising the beauty of our country, they know more than we think they know," said Tomic. Tomic says that the Brits are one of the best spenders when it came to tourists in Croatia, and that many choose to come to Croatia during the Olympic Games to escape the crowds in London. Tomic says that more and more young, educated Croats are moving to live in the UK, with between three and five thousand Croats estimated to be now living in the United Kingdom. Between 3000 and 5000 is a bit vague? I bet the Croat govt know exactly how Brits are living in HR.

Between 3000 and 5000 is a bit vague? I bet the Croat govt know exactly how Brits are living in HR. And most likely the Brits in the HR are in the hundred number. This has always been the joke to me, that Croatia a country with half it's citizens working or living abroad as financial migrants or for a better life try so hard to make it tough for a minority of other nationalities to come here. I think that should show them that in fact most of us are not financial migrants, but rather business builders or here for retirement. Fair enough I don't want Zagreb to become like London, just a melting pot of people that don't see eye to eye, but to help build that friendship the Croat officials could sure be a bit more kind and considerate, especially those at immigrations. I got one friend in Zagreb that has been there for 5 years and he is Asian. He's a great guy and speaks Croatian well, but they just seem to have it against him each and every time he goes to renew his visa. The amount of hoops he has to jump though is crazy, and I thought I had it tough. Anyway, as soon as Croatia joins the EU I am inviting all my UK village folks to come here and we will outnumber the Croats 4 to 1.
