I received what appeared to be a spam email yesterday but, on further investigation, it looks as though there is a real and honest intent. I have cut and pasted the English section here for you to form your own opinions - which I would like to hear.
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Croatia is the only state in the world where the plundering has been legalized.
The lawmaking power regarding the lawyers´ fees in Croatia has been transferred to the bar association. The power has been misused. The Croatian citizens and legal entities pay 10 times more lawyers´ fees than the corresponding fees are charged in other European countries. Croatian Government and Croatian Parliament are controlled by the lawyer lobbies. The consequence of it is the violation of human rights on large scale and the ruin of the national economy. More details on
jurpro.hr/izvjesce-lang=en.html - chapter 2.
We have organized a Petition to change the situation. We are not optimistic as the Government and the Parliament are controlled by mega-rich lawyers in Croatia. We appeal specially on the EC member states and the whole international community to pressure the Croatian Government to change the law and stop violating the human rights due to excessive lawyer fees and long proceeding duration (20 and more years).
Please sign the Petition on
jurpro.hr/peticije/peticija-lang=en.html
and forward our mail to the people you know or people who might be able to help Croats.
Best regards
