Hello all,
Does anybody know what happens if the bank transfer to pay RETT arrives in the Finance Ministry account a day or two after the "15 calendar day" deadline we were told about after emission of the bill? My bank has messed up handling the transfer - claiming Croatia is not in Europe(!) and requires more processing time - so will leave a couple of days before the deadline but doubtless not arrive until a day or two after.
What are the immediate penalties, if any?
Many thanks

Probably nothing but possibly a late payment 'fine'. If the latter do not feel too bad about contributing to the nations finances. At the rate most Croatian people are paying their taxes, they might even give you a medal for being on time, even if 1 or 2 days late. There is talk they want to investigate the 100 biggest companies that owe money, so if that is anything to go by and my own experience with my local tax office tossing my tax return into a dusty corner of the room for 1 year, well, don't mention anything, pay it and you might walk away from it unscathed.
