Buying agricultural land as a foreigner. Still not allowed as far as I know except by forming a Croatian company (expensive option). Looking for way round it for a friend. One option I think is an irrevocable power of attorney from the seller, including rights to sell to a new buyer, transfer ownership into the foreigner's name once the law changes. Does anyone have experience/suggestions on how to do this?
I suppose it depends on what you want to do. If you want to earn a living through agriculture of your land you need a company anyway. I managed to find a property that is in a quiet location on the edge of a small village but comes with options to cheaply rent the surrounding agricultural land and buy that land if and when the law changes.
