good job Jebiga, maintaining one's pride in one's country is never difficult when away from home, I thinik it's a case of absence making the heart grow fonder. You feel a closer bond with your homeland and a greater desire to return. There are some people living or who have lived in Croatia who find problems with it, but hey, we can say it about all countries. But deep down there is something positive about every country and Croatia is certainly one filled with great aspects.

Maybe because this is an English Speaking Forum that the posters are mainly UK, Irish or American/Canadian based I'd say if there was such a thing as Visit-Croatia in German, (and there probably is) then there could be alot of Germans and Austrians posting on those boards. I think you'll find that the majority of people very much like Croatia, hence the interest in spending time discussing the subject. Why would they bother otherwise? .... lifes too short Personally speaking, the only think I don't like about this discussion board is 'The Men/Women in Black', who haven't got the decency or respect for other forum members to sign in and state their views.

oh i c...i guess it was my name.... Anyways...
Croatians in American love Croatia and go back whenever they can. I speak croatian even though i was born in the US. My parents left in the early 70's and the rest of my family during the 60's from former Yugo. They weren't communists and wanted a better life of opportunity. Unfortunately...most immigrants to the US come here to work their butts off and succeed financially. Croatia is a beautiful country and the lifestyle of hanging out at the cafic and drinking REAL coffee is awesome...so is the Adriatic Sea. The Croatians in America stick together...in Cleveland they have a "Dom" Croatian Catholic Church, and a credit union(essentially their own bank). Most of my parents friends are Croatians and they all cook Croatian food and make their own wine and liquor just like in the old country. And yes, there probably arent alot of Croats on here because it is for English speakers so you will most likely get a lot of foreigners on here.

luda...
yeah we miss it everyday!!! There are good things about living in the US and good things about living in Croatia... I wish i could split myself in half and live in both places at the same time. Mainly: in Croatia with US dollars... I think alot of Croatians would move back if the economy was good. Maybe if they make it into the EU they will move back in larger numbers. Look as far as the EU thing...in America...we all work for Evil corporations and strance...America is full of strance...thats what makes up half our country..the rest are inbred rednecks who are "american". hahahahaha...yeah they're natives....whahahahahaahaha... No easy answers but we miss the beautiful Hrvatska but im sure it sucks for those there that are poor. Thats why people left.

Perhaps your posts got deleted because you wrote them in Croatian. If you look at the list of rules, all posts should be in English. If not, perhaps just a computer glitch
