is it an impossible task for Brits and Croats to get on? Is the cultural difference too much of a leap. Is the placid English nature too much for the tempestuous Croatian. Should I give up? I've come across blatant anti-britishness, including one old croatian who said "you won't get anything out of them they're the meanest people on the planet". Do Croats feel that Brits are pro-serb and anti croat? Is the only thing Croats like about Britain the music? Is the only thing Brits like about Croatia, the coast? Do we really just HATE each other? ..........

This is a complete one way thing, 99% of brits have no opinion of Croats either way.
Croats hate Brits, they blame them for the Ustashe being slaughtered (oo well), they blame them for anything that went wrong in the last war.
If you find 100 brits you will find 100 different opinions, Croats after so many years of communism mostly think alike and still eat in the propaganda that is still prevalent from htv.
Pure jealousy, years of ill-informed propaganda and the constant blaming everybody else for their problems.
Currently the uk are one of several countries apposed to Croatia joining the Eu until they hand over Gotovina, Croat mentality is to blame the Uk or more accurately blame England instead of blaming Croatia for not finding the guy.

Utter crap, that is just what people have told you so you believe them. In WWII the Uk was anti Croatia, but then again Croatia was controlled by the ustashe, are you suggesting the uk should have supported these scum bags?

AND YOU ARE A CLEAR CASE OF A CRO-HATER.First you are trying to imply that today's situation has to do with Bleiburg Masssacre. But people who are from Partisan families have the same sentiment about today's Britain. And Britain is THE MAIN country opposing Croatia EU entrance and ONL country that Craots need a Visa for.

Lets try be reasonable....do you think Croatia deserves to be in the EU? Croatia was asked to find a guy, Kretin Mesic said he would find him within 10 days, then nothing.....so the Uk and the eu should say ok..you tried??? Those lies and failures are the Balkans way, you cannot export that, it doesn't work. Try and behave like a Balkans person abroad and you will be laughed at. The Eu needs to see that the Croatian government has control of Croatia, at the moment they doubt that. Regarding Visas, the problem is Croatian passports were handed out like lollipops during the war, thus lots of very undesirable people have Croatian passports. Also the Uk, has a very liberal attitude to immigration and unlike other countries we help people who move there with nothing, that needs to be protected. Immigrants who are already in France, risk their life’s to get to the uk, the gypsies no fool. The visas are still required, otherwise the uk would be under attack from mafiaso Herzegovina’s, who have Croatian passports.

The biggest problem of Croatian mentality is ignoring the hard facts and spinning out the conspiracy theory whenever convenient. It is very easy to blame other for your shortcomings. Croatia will become a great nation once it can admit to its mistakes, past and present. England does not hate Croatia, the idea is laughable. As long the Croatian government thinks that it is OK to sign on the dotted line and than ignore and not fullfil its commitments, the country will be permanently stuck. It is up to Croatia to lift the EU entrance block. Give Gotovina up. End of story.

Scandinavina countries have the most liberal immigration laws. And there are NO VISAS for CRO's. As for Gotovina he has a France passport too. And it was renewd 10 days before his deseperance. I don't see that EU has expeled France.

Get real, DundoMaroje. The Croatian Government knows where he is. If they really wanted to join EU, they would issue the warrant for his arrest and Interpol would be paying Mr Gotovina a visit within hours. It is so sad that Croatian people support this criminal, for that is all he is.

@bobsyoursuncle
The problems will be over when Britain steps down from their fake moral pedestal. And when it comes to Balkan they have none.

Bobsyouruncle, my understanding is that you are a Croatian lady who lives in the uk, be honest do you feel discriminated against? Do you regularly get told to go home?
I have experience of both countries and I know that from my experience brits in Croatia are treated much worse than Croats in Britain. Everybody I know in uk, would be distraught if a foreign national was told to go home, its quite normal in Zagreb.

For your constatation that he is a criminal.HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE IS??? Why did France gave him a new passport when they knew for his indictment 3 months earlier?

However in their position to do your job properly, you need balls of steels.
