We've had a large population of Eastern Europeans in the North Manchester/Rochdale area since after the 2nd World War and they have become part and parcel of our community. As in other parts of England we have received a new influx and they too are settling well. The school my husband works at has recently added a group of young Polish students to it's population and they are really nice kids. There are good and bad of every race, colour, creed and nationality. You should accept individuals for how you find them and not have pre-conceived bigoted ideas.

Sasha, what are you trying to say: 1. This is what a Cro Airlines Place looks like. (if yes, then why would we want to know that?) or 2. Boris is right and there is a plot against Croatia led by the UK channel 5 news team who were only pretending to do a story on global warming?

Carol, what I was trying to say that Boris is partially right: a TV station or a newspaper would never pick up on big boys (British Airways, American Airways etc), they would never publish a photo illustrating aircraft emission by featuring a big airline. They pick up on small guys, in this case CRO Airlines (I do not think this is intentional, just a CRO plane was there when the TV crew was filming).

people, it's best to not think too seriously about the things 'boris' says he's purposely winding you up. I am not winding anyone, just telling the truth. On the main CRO TV news tonight they talked about another Serbian war criminal (Dragoljub Travica?), who is living in the UK. Croatia asked for his extradition 4 years ago, but Britain is delaying. The other war criminal Spanovic is released on parole from jail in London, by just depositing 5.000 pounds, that he would not escape. What is really sad that Britain insisted that even a minor Croatian war suspect (generals Norac, Ademi etc) are brought to court, and had to stay in jail before the court started with procedings. And convicted war criminals, living in Briatain are released on parole. Shame! BTW, it seems that it could be up to 5 Serbian criminals living in Briatain.

Boris... I know you are trying to be genuine but before you can "tell the truth", you have to be aware of it. Your central mistake is to over inflate Croatia's relevance outside its own boundaries. The world (and england) doesn't hate Croatia and its not out to "get" Croatia, mostly it is just indifferent. The uk take in huge numbers of immigrants each year, compared to your country and to be honest, right now as a British Citizen i'd prefer if the authorities concentrated their efforts in filtering out the ones who are most likely to try to gas or bomb the citizens (whilst admitting that a fair number who would do that are homegrown). We also have human rights laws, often imposed by the EU which lead the UK to let people loose in Britain who most of the populace would prefer to see deported or behind bars. In short, the Uk has problems, but it does not have to prioritise Croatia's problems over its own. So where you perceive that England is out to get Croatia, your complaint really is that the Uk doesn't make Croatia a special case. The british poplulace barely know where Croatia is. They have a fading memory that there was a war here (where they were told that Croatia was the victim of Serb war crimes and there is some sympathy for Croatians). Plus a small minority may have been on holiday here or are considering taking a holiday here. That's it. As far as the average Briton is concerned, that would be all they could tell you about the country.Sorry.

Boris' views truly reflect the views you're likely to get in Croatia far more than any other poster. Like them or loathe them, his views exactly match a huge % of Croats

There was another topic a few weeks ago about the Croatian education system. I said it did not teach people to think. I believe Boris has just proved my point.

Like them or loathe them, his views exactly match a huge % of Croats This is true, please note that I do not hate the English or similar, but I am posting here views as shared by many other Croats (rightly or wrongly!). What surprises me that many people on this message board, attack me for this, and accuse me of inventing things. Just read this morning: English young people have the worst record of behavior in Europe and the highest number of pregnacy out of matrimony. I am sorry about this, but can you thinkk about a nation with such problems. Possibly, if you are bad, when young, you are not very good later on in life.
