Good point about rationality, my family has property for sale, unfortunately owned by several people, and some haveextrmemely high expectations.
I do not know what the going price per m2 is on the islands near losinja, does anybody know??

Can this nonsense stop about the Russians buying up everywhere? It's been coming from 3 sources (that can be verified) - HSP "Russians will buy s all and force us out and bring back the Serbs" - that idiot Dzapic even had the lack of cop on to say it more than 4 times on live broadcasts in the last year. - A certain large and nefarious real estate company who seem to be everywhere in Croatia and behind it are 3 HDZ card carriers (including 1 recently disgraced ex-minister) - EPH who have been fluttering their lashes at Russian media tycoons to buy them out, take on their losses and let them continue their wicked ways.
Russians prefer Montenegro, where planning is planning and what's said is done. They prefer Albania where workers work and beaches are clean and sandy. The numbers of Russians visiting Croatia fell below the expected figure of 100,000 in 2007, and was below the 2006 figure of 91,000 (2007 = 87,000+). It sickens any intelligent and observant person when you hear the usual "Oh they were in this cafe, and they were throwing money around" - "Who saw them? You?". "Oh no, it was in the paper somewhere."

Hold on : a ) I'm told that on HR-TV just yesterday , on some tourist programme around midday , there was a feature on "somebody" with a new bar , successfully flogging NV Moet Chandon Rose "to Russians at Euro1.500/bottle" ( usual retail price in western EUrope : below 30 Euros , in our better supemarkets ) ; if that's a hoax , it's gotta be a well-organised one , then ( and well-supported , in all the "right" places ) b ) I am personally aware of at least one Russian buyer , able and willing to part with a few mil. $$$ ( they are still stuck into US$ , the Russians , much to do with pricing of oil & gas ) for some land to develop on Brach and Hvar - except that all this "to-ing and from-ing" of hear-says has been going on for some years now and the Papirology doesn't appear to have moved any quarters of one single inch , towards any conclusion/s to transaction/s..."my" Russian - who actually exists AND is Loaded - is much unimpressed , so I won't be surprised if he finally gives up on Cro-ideas and moves on to pastures greener , like Cyprus , Malta , Dubai , Tangiers , Algarve...

Ray, both you and I and any sane, educated and travelled person wil know that fallacious anecdotes are accepted as pure fact and truth in Croatia, and most of eastern europe for that matter. It's funy you stress the "loaded' bit when writing about this "russian", for every one "loaded" Russian there are many more non-russians floated or floating around Croatia not getting anywhere. The country has missed the boat for sensible sustained development and it's banks and major projects are "loaded' up with dirty cash, the Israeli weaons money that comes via Hungary accounted for 1/4 of hotel investment in Croatia in 2004-6 (the front company involved having been exposed and punished for irregular accounting in Budapest this March) yet this the government spins yarns about how sought after the place is. No wonder there's a crisis when the government do their best to lie to the populace. Kind of telling the horses the barn's not on fire while bolting the door to make sure they can't escape!

One suggestion out of the blue: Is there anybody out there from the real estate folks willing to register a real estate agency in any country of the EU (eg. GB, I like their way of doing business) and ask the seller and the buyer to waive all their rights in front of the Croatian court and the Croatian authorities as the legal basis for the commercial agreement in favour of any other jurisdiction?
I am happy to help on the legal side, if anybody is interested. I think this is the good way to go and establish an "upper tier" of the Croatian real estate market and resolve the deadlock in the Croatian real estate expansion.

Irac Unless you work for the an eastern european secret service or mossad in which case you will be dead very shortly for exposing state secrets, then I find your comments strange to say the least. How can you possible now this information? Who is quoting figures like 25% of hotel investment in Croatia is from Israeli weapons money that comes via Hungary? With regards to Croatia being sought after place and having looked at: www.hiberno-knin.com web site, I'd be pretty sure you don't sell many properties. This site would have looked out of date 8 years ago. Still I love the bit about "Life is for Living not complaining!" How very fitting from someone who seems to do much more complaining and argueing than most here.
