UCP, well it's nice to know we are on the same side. What ever the problem is we all should work together.
Just like you, yes, I was also travelling around Yugoslavia. Meeting people and seeing beauitful places. Everyone were friendly. Now if you do the same, everyone is suspicious of who you are! Even if you just cross the border to Slovenia, or Montenegro, or Serbia you don't feel home, in the Yugoslavia days you feel home! Because everyone got along and it was one big country.
Yes, there are bad things that not everyone is happy of and not everyone benefited from that type of government. But everyone made more money, there were many industries, exports were huge, and Yugoslavia was a very rich country!
svugrek, people like you do not know much but talk a lot! You have not even lived long enough to understand Yugoslavia, and yet you criticize it because you lived somewhere in the west and try to apply that system to Yugoslavia. You are young, naive, and ignorant! You just make troubles!
I agree UCP, svugrek must be on drug when he said "BUT please dont give me some crap that you were welcome to call yourself Croat ! Because it was strickly forbidden and considered as racism almost! We all were forced to declare ourselves like YUGOSLAVS!"
Who the hell were FORCED to call themselves Yugoslavs??? You can call yourself Croat, Serb, etc...
You need to wake up svugrek!!! Do not get brainwashed by what you watch on TV! Because what was shown on TV about Yugoslavia during the wars in those days were half true!

This is the most typical style of conversation here, why do you keep blaming people that don't live in Croatia ? If you had read some of my previous posts you would've noticed that I've lived all my life in Zagreb. Now, my mom went to get a new pacifier for me, in the meantime i will try to say something about Yugoslavia and its wealth and 'health'. First of all, I agree that Yugoslavia had some very powerful industries and higher export, but not too high. Things were going well in 60's and 70's and unemployment rate was lower too. But at the same time Yugoslavia was also living of foreign loans. What was going on in the background? That system couldn't hold social and economical pressure from 'lazy' and non skilled workers whose working places were guaranteed to them for a lifetime regardless of their skills and motivation, besides that all citizens of ex-YU had free health care, many chiefs (communist party members mostly) had all sorts of benefits. Sounds really like a promised land, so virtually it seems Yugoslavia was rich. Three people would work, while the other three would watch them or have lunch breaks for hours or use sick days for months, and all of them would have the same incomes. What a life, ha ? What more you could ask for ? lol Money is falling from the sky Does any of you remember that enormous inflation in 80's and Ante Markovic ? P.S. Those 'bonovi' (stamps) for gas and every other day restrictions on driving because there was no gas , it was really one of qualities of a very rich country known as Yugoslavia rofl

Speechless, all i can ad is something for svugrek, mali sta se mucis sa ovim jugoslaveni? Kad citam sta oni napisu povraca mi se, ovi jos uvijek pjevaju DRUZE TITO MI TI SE KUNEMO....... If you love your yugoslavia so much once again i'll add this link www.jugoslavija.com/Its naive to think that no-one cared what nationality u were back in the day, underneath the surface EVERYONE cares. If they didnt, like i said before there wouldnt have been a war that was fuelled by so much hatred. Sure the politicians were pulling the strings but they can only do so much, the rest is history.

Its not just that the comments some people post are completly stupid and ridiciulous that bother me, rather...its where do these people get theire ideas??? Who in the world told these people these stupid things??? I am baffled by that question. Sure, Serbs and Croats went their different ways/ways of thinking about the war but never, NEVER have a heard a serb or croat say "In Yugoslavia we HAD to DECLARE ourselves Yugoslavs" Ahhh,,, what can you do.... its seems the world is gettting stupider and stupider by the day...

Smart One, now when everything is over and Yugoslavia was burried, you can say you are Croat, Serb, Slovene or whatever. You still didn't answer me what was your nationality in that red Yugoslav passport ? Wasn't Croatian, Serbian or Slovenian for sure!
What if the Yugoslav Militia would ask you who you were what would you tell them ? I'm a Croat ? hahahahah, yeah, you would if you were stupid.
What a liberal country Yugoslavia used to be that the whole world still is in mourning over it.

Who ever started this thread is the stupid one and along with svugrek said some of the dumpest things about Croatia! Good point UCP!

Why do I have a weird feeling that same person is hidden behind a few nicknames here.
Since you all 'Yugoslavs' seem to be so smart and intelligent, why then none of you didn't even bother posting some links to prove that my posts are dumb or untrue ? I keep asking you questions, and all I am getting from you are insults and the same word stupid-dumb over and over. Well, my dear ones, the only stupid ones here are obviously you then.

Thank You very much Mila.
I never thought I would have so many people on my side,, I just hate seeing people with so little knowledge of Yuga , spreading so many lies and misconseptions.
Yuga may not have been the best counrty in the world, but it definelty was not want Svugrek and "Right" make it seem to be.
Regarding Svugreks stupid question on passports, Yes it said "Yugoslavian" as a nationality because YUGOSLAVIA was a nation. How could it have said "Serbian" "Croatian" "Slovene" when they were not nationalities, (hence the first part of the word "NATIONalities). In Yugo they were ethnicitys, perhaps the passports could have said "Croatian Yugoslavs" "Serbian Yugoslavs" etc.. But thats not the point, that really only divdes people and the country.
Im not saying you should hide your ethnicity, by all means you should be proud of your ethnicity, heritage, and culture (Both serbs, croats, slovenes, everyone!) But dont let it divide the nation and people.

Svugrek, just because everyone is disgreeing with your stupid post doesnt mean they are different nicks.
I know this must be hard for you to understand but there are still smart serbs and croats in the world who know a hell of alot more about EX yugoslavia than you.

hahaha, now we are improvising, Croatian Yugoslav or Serbian Yugoslav in the red passports ? there was no Cro or Serb Yugoslavs, at least not in mine and my parents passports, we all were only Yugoslavs. So here I don't need to be smart enough to see that you lied about it again.
How many more times are you gonna say and call stupid everything you cant or dont want to agree with ?
But that is typical for people that don't have inspiration, lack of creativity and eloquency or in your case lack of proofs, facts etc. BTW, your english seems to be a hell lot better than mine, but you also dont seem to use it for some better and more intelligent purpose or discussions, than saying how you know Yugoslavia better than me or that I was too young at that time. You obviously dont know Yugoslavia better than I do, if you do, then give me some facts, post some links here and let's discuss them like civilized people, instead of calling me and my posts stupid-dumb. thank you

Svugrek at first I thought maybe I was to harsh on you and over-reacted. Now I have realize that you are the most stupid person I have ever talked to. 1) I NEVER said, that the Yuoslav passart contained the writting "Croatian Yugoslav" "Serb Yugoslav" etc,, what I said was: "...... perhaps the passports could have said "Croatian Yugoslavs" "Serbian Yugoslavs" etc.. But thats not the point........." I said COULD ! As in .. The governement COULD/i] have decided to use "Serb/Croat Yugoslav" but they didnt.. Only COULD have if they wanted to. Then I continued to explain why that wouldnt be the best idea...
Please read each post carefully before, responding to it.....It will save you the embaressment.
2) Luka, Tomislav, Myself, nor anybody else on this website who actually have some intelligence do not need to post any websites/links for you so that can have a broader understanding of what Yugoslavia was prior to war. If you want a better comprehension on what Yugoslavia was go reserach it for yourself.
Some people on this website have been in Yugoslavia, lived their adult lives there and know what it really was better than some little kid who just got out of kingergarden.
