Let it go, the guy can easily wear a t-shirt under his vest, or at least a bandage or plaster over it, and besides, having a tatoo is a bit retarded anyway, don't people think forward 30 years when their skin sags. This is the problem he does not want to cover it.... if he covered it, they would let him play..... so when I mean no tattoo, I may have not made myself clear... it means he can keep the tattoo but he must cover it.... it should not be displayed on the court....as I said before the court is for the game Not for displaying a personal message of hate!

And it's lovely to be told to go back where I came from, I suggest telling that to the people in Knin, Siveric, and those I know in Split and so on, sick with it in the states, aren't they building an intolerant nation you guys can all be proud of. Being born into an ethnic, and I use that loosely, group isn't a gift, it's to be respected and worked with. Maybe you should ask some fellow thinkers along same lines in SAudi, who believe that being born Muslim is enough. It takes a lot more than being born into a nationality to make it work. This paragraph does not make much sense, it is scattered. Please re-write so everyone can understand. Are you calling me ethnic.... hahaha? Do you think I am muslim.... I asked a few people to read this and they said the same thing as me....this paragraph makes no sense....and if you say that we are stupid and that is reason we can't understand it..... Sorry, I asked my husband who has a degree. I asked my brother who has a master's degree and another friend that is a general practioner(Doctor) out of the 4 of us no one understood it... I generally can comprehend what you write, so maybe you are just tired or typing to fast. Anyway, I can't respond to this if I can't read it.

Em, I guess your idea of rational argument, with all the American purchased academic talent around you must be telling others to go back to where they came from, strange, but I reckon that it's just a little rude and unpatriotic. The welcome I have received from actual Croats, Bosnians and Serbs alike, and all those who live in the area in and around Knin (from whatever religious background they come from) has been nothing but unfailingly polite and decent. But then again, the Irish diaspora have always been known to be out of touch with current thinking here, hence their support of paramilitary groups and retrospective thinking.
I'm guessing that writing clearly for native speakers to understand isn't getting through across the Atlantic, so I will state it in points:
Being born into an ethnic group is not the be all and end all. You have to earn your citizenship, not by being disrespectful of people living in a country, any country for that matter. By belittling others and acusing them of being Irish prtoestant, Irish serb, Croat haters, and then telling them to go home or stop posing, it is the same mindset as one encounters in such a wonderfully openthinking and all embracing country as Saudi Arabia. I never said you were muslim, only your apparent mindset from your insulting behaviour is reminiscent of the lackidaisical attitude and ignorance encountered in the gulf.
If this isn't clear enough for you and your cabal of intellectuals, I'm sorry, but I guess my Masters and PhD just dont' stand the test of time, nor the 6 years of teaching.

Poor Old LoveU2, Is there anybody's cage you haven't rattled? Every thread, every topic, it all ends in a square -up with you. For the sake of this forum, can you just not get your point of view across in a rational manner, instead of insulting everyone that disagrees with you. If you were right every time, you would be President of the United States of America.

If this isn't clear enough for you and your cabal of intellectuals, I'm sorry, but I guess my Masters and PhD just dont' stand the test of time, nor the 6 years of teaching. First off, 2 of the people that looked at your post were educated abroad, so your attempt to belittle our education is futile. WoW I am so impressed with your over the internet degree's. and with your 6 years of teaching Dog obiedence. 2nd of all.... Sorry but citizenship is not earned. You can be a rotten evil person and still be croatian. I don't have to earn citizenship... I have it! Whether I am a good person or bad.... but by your account most croatians are greedy, lazy and corrupt.... I don't think you deserve to live in my country or ever get citizenship.... Also you keep acting like I have no idea what the hell is going on in my country.... Do you think because you live there part-time at your vacation home that you actually have a grasp of what is going on.... Do you even speak Croatian. Quit implying I have no idea about what is going on at my home.... I know! I don't need the likes of you a vacationing part timer who has nothing invested in Croatia but a small amount of vacation time! You talk about all the changes we need to make...What nerve... look into your own backyard before you start stinking our's up! You also mention me belittling people....Thats the pot calling the kettle black.... Did you not say that Dalmatians were LAZY , is that not called belittling.....maybe the schools you went to did not teach you the definition of belittle....I guess when you get a degree over the internet these kind of things are missed in your education. So those without sin should cast the first stone. Obviously you ain't casting the first stone! and you should be ashamed to call yourself Irish, you even belittle your own people. Irish are generally very decent, happy, down to earth, gift of the gab, whimsical souls.... what happened to you? LoveU2

It was directed to Irac because he posted something to me first. I never ever hear from you, when all is right in the forum. You are childish, you only show up when there is a disagreement, which was when Emiz and I were posting! SSSSSSSsnake!

U2 stop being so offensive, you troll Regardless of anything, all the info you have is second hand and subjective; you do not have the first idea about life in Croatia, and perhaps even more importantly as this site is aimed at people who visit Croatia thus the users are mostly non Croats, you have no idea how it is to be a true foreigner in Croatia. You are only a semi foreigner.

Irac, I thought your paragraph was very clear and understandable. And I actually agree with what you were trying to say. It is true simply being born into a certain (I hesitate, as you do, to use "ethnic") group does not simply give you gifts and rights, but also responsibilities to work hard and use it to build the country up.
Some people always turn any thread around, and start throwing the insults. This thread is about a basketball player, but as usual a poster has used it to insult another posters intelligence. This board has certainly gotten tedious.
I don't care WHAT an athlete has tatooed on his arm. I watch athletes for their skill of the game, that's all. He can have green hair like Dennis Rodman, throw his fist up in the air (as some blacks did during the civil rights movement) for solidarity, have long hair and cause a scandal (does a certain footballer in the 70s ring a bell??) or turn her back to the flag (as a cheerleader did in the States to protest the Iraqi War). WHO CARES??
If people choose to get riled up, that is their problem. Just let him play the game, that's his job. Don't give him the attention, that's what he wants. Since it seems people can't even agree on what the person depicted in the tatoo represents anyway, does he not have a right to express himself? Just because he has a high profile job he can't do that? He's not a politician or world leader. Don't give him that status and power.

There you go again, looking for a square up.
I think you will see that I've had plenty debates over different topics over the last year or so, fighting my corner on many issues, some you win, some you lose, but also debate with consideration for the other point of view.
I'm not going to comment any further on how you project and conduct yourself over this public forum any more.... as it just leads to a tit for tat baby argument every time. Your words, actions, conduct and attitude to other people is clear. You are just sad, lonely and bitter.
One more thing, what time is it over there in America, 5am on the East Coast .... 3am on the West.
Can't sleep?

Can't sleep? slainté Yes it is early and stock market opens early and closes in early afternoon here on west coast..... so if you want to do any kind of trading you must be up early. I don't see what my hours have to do with anything...how ignorant. and you making a comment about sad lonely and bitter....another ignorant comment coming from a man that has posted here for a year...hehehehe. The only thing I do have a problem with is the ignorant people like you....there are just a handful on this site. If I disagree with you, you call me aggressive, if I don't go with the flow you prescribe then I have attitude. I state my feelings, some people agree some don't.... there is a small group that don't, do I care...NO! This is a post, a place for me to waste time between doing things on the computer.....If you seriously think I care what you think.....you are more stupid than I thought. I have a skin like a rhino... most croatains do! I have had dealings with much worse than you.... I have almost my whole life come out on top of every situtation.... that maybe the difference why these posts are for fun and I don't give a crap what you think. This is a place to post whatever I feel like....unlike you I will not be here for a year or two. And one other thing.... I never have the problems at the Croatian speaking forum like I have here at this forum.... Hmmm I wonder if it due to the small group of English on this forum. LoveU2

U2 stop being so offensive, you troll You are only a semi foreigner. Is this suppose to hurt me....hahaha Is your sentence suppose to be non-offensive? I will not comment because most people on this site Hate you. Just go back to the original thread about "living in croatia is a horrible place to live" Anna had to take so many posts off that thread because people were threatening your life. You told everyone that someone from the forum had vandalized your car....hehehehe. Maybe you deserved it. Maybe someone will do it again now that you are back!

Thank you Emiz, Shannon and Culchie, it's interesting to know that I'm not alone in being incorrect in my studies. And that it's also good to have people make points without such a degree of rudeness that I never experienced in UCD, NUI Maynooth, in Scoil Eoin Baiste, Blakestown Community School, Phillips University, Marburg, and I could go on.
I am so sad that my awards from the National University of Ireland don't impress, maybe the internet is only useful for those with no time to do anything but study.
Dalmatians, by their own admission, at least those I know in Siveric (native sons and daughters) laugh about being lazy, Filip Zelic from the village of Zelic says his job in a video store is the perfect job for a Dalmatinac, just as they joke that I am unusual for an Irish that I'm not drinking all the time, then I remind them I'm working, and we go back and forth.
I pity you as you are unable to construct rational arguments and resort to the lowest namecalling to try make yourself sound better, but you don't need to, converstaion is good and also debate, and as for my Irishness, well, I am, as are many I know and have read from, earning citizenship. By repaying what they were given at birth. For Culchie and I we were born lucky, no two ways about it, but it's all about how we use it. Citizenship's not just for Christmas ;D
So, I'm sorry that I didn't drop down to the namecalling stuff, but I think there's more to life than that. On Gurovic, he gets paid to do a job, he's got a tattoo on him that will stop him from getting paid to do it, and whatever the rights and wrongs of it are, he'll have to live with the consequences. What's import, here in Croatia, is to educate the young and get them thinking forward, accepting all beliefs and ways fo life. Only then will the country turn itself around.

Oh, and as for being a part-timer, rich coming from someone thousands of miles away! Or should I say kilometres (we're metric in Europe). But why worry about what you think, those in Sibenik-Knin, and the occasional Splicanin matter more. And my jezik is coming along nicely hvala vam!

No bother Irac, I'm living not too far away from Blakestown, in Clonsilla, so I know your neck of the woods. Regarding LoveU2, I'm just not going to add any comment to any of her threads, there is no rational discussion anyway, so there's no need. I think everyone is of the same opinion regarding our esteemed academic and 36 year old retiree, so I now draw my line under the subject ---------------------------------------------------------- ---

Good on you Culchie, hey, isn't that a derogatory name well my Dad's from Dundalk so to annoy him we usually call him a bogger. But hey, did you see or heat of Andy Fordham last year with the, LVF, tattoo? I only heard about it after! I wish I could retire at 36, but there's too much to be done and too little time, and importantly money to do it with!
