CroSerbAbroad I am just getting a little bored with all the history lessons of late.... rather than coherent and concise debate. Too many people are quick to do a cut and paste and have that as the basis of their argument .. I could get a 5 year old to do a google search on Ustase and paste arguments to this forum.

I once wore a Croatian football shirt in Belgrade for a bet and I hardly got a second look, I dare anybody to walk around Zagreb in a serbian shirt.

GS, my post was sarcastic in that every Serb I have seen on these posts has always mentioned the Croat attrocities and the Chetnik freedom fighters - I know that Croatians have always had this thrown at them and you know what you have and have not done, the majority of Croatians accept and apologise for what has been done so i dont see a need for it to be continuosly mentioned - I sympathise with you. Chetniks were no better, fighting for Kingdom or not.
In terms of the football shirt Emiz, I will give you a couple of examples from my life. I went to Serbia in 1994, my surname is more Croatian than Serbian and i hold a british passport, I encountered rudeness and corruption everywhere, i was even charged more for things because i had a british passport. My relatives are called "germans" in Serbia and some dont get served in shops because they speak "Croatian" and not "serbian".
On a recent visit to Dubrovnik, some english friends drove across the border to Montenegro where their hire car was "stoned" by locals montenegrians because it had a croatian number plate. Yet, i have seen cars with belgrade plates passing through Knin and Dubrovnik with no problems.
You can put all these actions down to individuals but my experiences are different to you i'm afraid. Not saying all Croatians are wonderful and all Serbians are bad but my lasting impression is that Croatia is much more tolerant.
Again, unfortunately we are comparing nations and peoples, lets all just move forward, Croatia has its own direction and Serbia has its own.
