I love Brits . You are still nowhere close to Serbs It only took 5 pages of debating to get to this stage, may you enter heaven on a golden chariot, whomever you are! I do admit to Brits being a bunch of complainers, its a shame about this as it gets us no where. Also I admit that some of us are too rowdy, and I think these louts should have their passports taken away.

Not all of course, but majority of those whom I know are like that (they've got some less appealing traits as well, but wouldn't go into it now , don't want to spoil the moment ) All in all, my favourite foreigners by far.

Gunning down civilians in Ireland in a football stadium?? you'll need more info than this to present a case. Here are details, all happened a long time ago. Croke park is probably the best stadium in Europe now, 85,000 all seater stadium. On November 21 1920, Irish republican minister and head of the Irish Republican Brotherhood Michael Collins ordered the assassination of what was known as the 'Cairo Gang', fourteen high-ranking British Intelligence officers sent to infiltrate Irish nationalist organisations. Early that morning, the fourteen were killed - a number of them in their own homes, and in some cases with their family in close proximity. This action severely crippled British intelligence in Ireland and caused consternation among forces of the Crown. The Dublin Gaelic football team was scheduled to play the Tipperary team later the same day in Croke Park, the Gaelic Athletic Association's major football ground. One of the British auxiliaries involved in 'Bloody Sunday' recalled that they tossed a coin over whether they would go on a killing spree in Croke Park or loot Sackville Street (Dublin's main street, now called O'Connell Street) instead. Despite the general unease in the Dublin as news broke of the killings by the IRA the previous day, a war-weary populace continued with life. Approximately 10,000 spectators went to Croke Park for the match. However within minutes of the start of the game, an airplane flew over the ground and a red flare was shot from the cockpit. Auxiliaries began raiding the ground while an officer on top of the wall fired a revolver shot. After a burst of gunfire, the crowd began to stampede away from the gunfire. Two football players, Michael Hogan and Jim Egan, were shot; Hogan died from his injuries. A young Wexford man who attempted to whisper an Act of Contrition into the dying Hogan's ear was also shot dead. The casualties included Jeannie Boyle, who had gone to the match with her fiancee and was due to be married five days later, and John Scott, who was fourteen and so mutilated that it was initially thought that he had been savagely bayoneted. The youngest victims were aged 10 and 11. The actions of the Auxiliaries, like indeed much of their actions and the actions of the Black and Tans, were unauthorised and were greeted with horror by the Dublin Castle-based British authorities. In an effort to cover up the nature of the behaviour by forces of the Crown, a press release was issued which claimed: A number of men came to Dublin on Saturday under the guise of asking to attend a football match between Tipperary and Dublin. But their real intention was to take part in the series of murderous outrages which took place in Dublin that morning. Learning on Saturday that a number of these gunmen were present in Croke Park, the crown forces went to raid the field. It was the original intention that an officer would go to the centre of the field and speaking from a megaphone, invite the assassins to come forward. But on their approach, armed pickets gave warning. Shots were fired to warn the wanted men, who caused a stampede and escaped in the confusion.

...well I for one have to admit that I had actually forgotten these grisly events that Culchie talks about in 1920's Ireland, but I would say that sending armed troops/police to a football stadium is not the brightest move on a chess board.
But as I said I was talking specifically about Croatia and I do not accept that Britain ever directly or indirectly set out to get anyone killed in the Balkans so I do not accept dundomaroje's previous points. As Jack Straw said today "the international community should have done more". And I'm sure he means Britain in that.

^ says who?.... an englishman?... hahaha good jokes man. and ofcourse there's gonna be some of them in zagreb, coz thats the cosmopolitan area of croatia, where alot of them didnt even fight in the war. they just take freedom for granted.
i dont see what the big deal is,.... you come here for a nice holiday, and we make money , so we both get what we want. but i've got a problem with britts trying to live here coz then they mess up politics here as their opinions are of the same as most other britts which clashes with the opinions of croats. we dont want britts involved in our politics, therefore dont live here, just come and visit as much as you like. britts are more than welcome for that.

you can't live in East Germany in the 1980's anymore. People will come to live in your country for no reason whatsover, you have to accept that. Some of us will even marry Croatians, then what are you going to do? Croatians have emigrated all over the world so now the influence that they have spread is going to come back to Croatia and you have to deal with it. There's nothing that you can do about it.

england, america, france, netherlands, canada , australia have an obligation to accept immigrants because their peoples conquered other peoples land, colonised them and so on, so they cant say no to immigrants/foreigners. wheras croatia never did that, so they dont have an obligation to accept immigrants/foreigners

I've really had so enough of a flagwaving idiot who's favourite pastime is blaming the kettle.....and talking like knowledge of history is an objective science.
Your talking about past and present like it's got something to do with justice and fairness for the people? Forget it.
The only reason Croatia never colonised other countries is because they were not powerful enough to do so. Or they would have.
And countries choices are made by the people in power, governments. Often not the choice of the people in the street at all. Democracy hasn't been around for long and isn't working perfectly either. Most people have no opinion about things that don't touch them directly anyway. Don't confuse a nation with a person please. Otherwise you can never have an open debate about anything.
You on the other hand are presenting yourself as a nation. Flag, blazoon, motto. That's your problem then.

This is supposed to be a free world. People should live where they like. Croatia would be a much happier place if it was a multicultural country.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I was brought up in Britain but I'm not a Brit - or anything else, I'm just me! Flags have a lot to answer for.

I think he has a point, all foreigners should be kicked out of Croatia, and likewise all Croats living outside of Croatia (all 5 million of them) should be forced to return. Of course there assets must be seized as they are not Croatian assets.
That would leave Croatia with a population of 10m, 6m unemployed and heading for bankruptcy, but hey if that’s what he wants.
