Agreed Sasha. By all means attack his arguments mercilessly if you will, but surely not his communication skills...I'm pretty sure he speaks and writes far better English that 95% of the readers of this site can speak or write Croatian. Exactly!!- as Capio said himself he has only ever met two english people who can speak croatian fluently.

Kajmak - wise words Pocketvenus, I am amazed you can speak so many languages! - which ones? Have you lived all over the world? What inspired you to learn so many languages?

However Croats with their stereotype mentality often think I'm making it up because I'm short and dark!
I think English people can be very very predjudice in their approach to foreigners, and the stereotypes they have for different ethnic groups are unbelievable!! Alot of people can be sOOO ignorant they wouldn't be able to differentiate between a black person and an asian person they'd just lump them in the same pile. Plus the thought of a mixed race person would have never even crossed their mind. Also anyone with dark skin regardless if they are mexican, brazilian, egyptian is defintley identified as a pakistani or another nationality of south asia. The thing is I understand you could say a similar thing for croatians though Croatia is not known for being the most multiculturally diverse country in europe - and it seems if these are the standards for us, then what hope does any other country have?!

Slatika - which part of the Uk are you familiar with? Your comments don't make sense for any region of the Uk where there are significant numbers of different ethnic groups (so it rules out London and most of the big cities for a start). It also would not apply to anyone with a television set. Maybe you have spent all your time in the Orkney or Shetland? (Apologies to anyone reading this from Orkney or Shetland... I strongly expect that you would also be able to make such a differentiation even if you couldn't draw on daily experience.)

Racial intolerance in UK is much, much bigger than in Croatia. A large proportion of black people in London are racist. They hate whites with venom. Racism is not exclusive to any race or nationality.

I speak English mother tongue, Dutch, Italian, Croatian and Serbian fluently, my German is getting pretty good and I also speak French, Norwegian and Swedish, and very good Swedish when I'm on the piss with Swedes! It was Eurovision that started off my love for languages, as well as the desire to learn my dad's language, which I had to do alone, as my mother doesn't speak a word of anything except English. That's why I hate them all singing in poor English, it really spoils it! However the lovely Željko JoksimoviƦ came second singing in Serbian, so there's hope!!! Actually my Masters was on the subject of the development of the Croatian language in the 20th century, stressing that it was a different language than Serbian! ;D Jill, did you join in the World Cup celebrations? ;D

The Swedish entrant at this year's Eurovision visited Croatia to go on HRT's Studio 10, and said that nobody believed she could possibly be a Swede as she is only 161cm (same as me!) and has dark hair and brown eyes! ;D

'Jill, did you join in the World Cup celebrations?'
I certainly did. Three big screens in the local town square and fireworks afterwards...the place went mad!
Capio, We are inland and quite high...and it can get very cold when the sun disappears, 3 days ago it went to -3 overnight after a cold day with the Tramontana blowing. It's warming up now!

My Venetian friend has got totally non identical 7-year-old twins - the blond one Francesco wore a Totti shirt, and Gabriele, the dark one, wore a Toni one! Do you know why Prodi wasn't there?
