yes David, very familiar, now even going more love/ghostesque grotesque, this is a sad departure from someone who should really be able to make points and not on a puerile level, sad, but then again, just a continuance of a pointless initial attack. You seemed to be better able to develop discussions without attack on another forum.

Not exactly the premiership but why did Leyton Orient wait 36 years until I left England before they decide to get a decent team together and get promotion. A person could get a complex about this kind of thing.
BTW, it's still raining here... just for a change.

Where is here? London? If so the weather there has been much better than Zagreb for the last few weeks, it even snowed for 5 mins in Zagreb yesterday.
Regarding the o's, I know how you feel, boro waited until I left Croatia to win their first ever cup, have the first ever season in Europe and now a European final, whenever I go back and watch them we get stuffed, i.e 4.0 at home to Villa.
Your lot were involved in some unsavoury scenes at Oxford yesterday.

So I understand. I guess it's pretty near the nerve endings when one lot gets promotion whilst condemning the other lot, the HOME team no less, to possible obscurity. Stir in a bit of salt when a former player (Lee Steele) scores the winner in the 95th minute of the last game of the season then I reckon there's all the ingredients for those with questionable self-control to lose it. A bit of "who are ya?" baiting probably didn't help. Who will be McClaren's replacement? Howard Wilkinson? You'll be playing us in a couple of years if he gets it. Good luck in the final. Don't go there! You'll jinx it. BTW, I was in London but have now returned and find it much warmer. Oh! Diesel is 99.9p per litre there. Stuff that!

Road prices are still higher here than in England, because of the tolls.
Sgt Wilko, no chance, It will be one of these three Martin O'Neill, Tony Mowbray or Venables.
Personally I would love Mowbary as he is my childhood hero, but Venables is a football genius, who gets bad press because of his Arthur Daley lifestyle.
Whoever we have our future is bright, we outplayed fulham yesterday despite the score, at one point all 11 players were 17-21 and all from our local academy, and unlike Arsenal's academy all were born within 30 miles of boro.

Without picking arguments with Sven, there are serious mistakes here.
Paul Robinson (Tottenham), David James (Manchester City)Surely there's a safer pair of hands, ones which don't give the entire defence the jitters. Robert Green (Norwich) Gary Neville (Manchester United) Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United)Never convinced me but all the others in the top teams are foreign. John Terry (Chelsea) Ashley Cole (Arsenal) Risky but worth it. Sol Campbell (Arsenal)I'd be sick if I were Ledley King Jamie Carragher (Liverpool) Wayne Bridge (Chelsea)Not good enough, goes to show how few lefties we have. David Beckham (Real Madrid) Michael Carrick (Tottenham) Frank Lampard (Chelsea) Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich) Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham) Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough) Joe Cole (Chelsea) Aaron Lennon (Tottenham)Sven must see something but I don't. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)Big mistake, we made the same mistake with Beckham. The boy is badly injured Michael Owen (Newcastle)Injured, injury prone, past it? Peter Crouch (Liverpool) Theo Walcott (Arsenal)He may be a bright star but he's only 17 and has not played much yet. Very brave but any of SWP, Defoe, Bent, Johnson, Parker must be upset about this one - and rightly so. It's suicide for Sven and for the boy.

Ribaric, I agree regarding James. I strongly disagree regarding Lennon, that kid has been a revelation, one of the fastest players I have ever seen and would be great to have on for the last 10 mins or so, it was him or Swan Wright Phillips and he has barely played I think Sven called that right.
Ledley King is injured, and with so many other players injured he missed out, which is a shame because he is an excellent player.
Rooney probably wont go, Defoe is on standby to replace him
Owen is not passed it, his goals per game ratio even this season is amazing, sadly he is too injury prone.
Walcott, I am kinda on the fence, it was brave, and he is an amazing talent, Brazil always take one youngster.
The two that annoyed me are Hargreaves and Jenas.

Nice one Elaine, always rely on you.
As for Jenas and Hargreaves, I think they fall into the category of "fresh legs" when we start to lose the midfield after about an hour. I think it's a Sven weakness, his system always seems to make the other lot appear to have 13 players. The French and Portugese were all over us in Greece, we don't seem able to keep the ball like they do. I'm alway dissapointed that the combination of Lampard, Beckham and Gerrard can't be the word's best when individually, they're probably all in the top six.
I can't argue with your comments other than about Owen, his game relies on acceleration and speed and I think he's lost enough of it to blunt him at this level. Interesting about Lennon, I'm a fan of exciting youngsters, especially those who are generally unknown to the opposition. We'll see. When does it all start?

They did! Happy I was not. A group of us were supposed to be going to Sochi on the Russian Black Sea coast. Why do I always get suckered into these things by people who have huge initial enthusiasm and who then don't follow through? I don't seem able to grow out of naivity. Still, I was there to see my footy team get promoted in the most dramatic way, perhaps there's a god after all.
Rugby fan eh? Why do they keep kicking it off the park?
